Requirements for Traveling with Dogs and Cats to the European Union.

  1. Health Certificate: You must present an original health certificate issued by an authorized veterinarian.
  2. Rabies Vaccination Certificate: Both the original certificate and a copy are required to confirm that your pet is vaccinated against rabies.
  3. Animal Identification Certificate: Provide the original certificate and a copy that shows your pet’s identification.

  4. Written Declaration: Submit a written declaration from the owner or designated person, including the original and a copy, in accordance with Part 1 and Part 3 of Regulation (EU) No 577/2013.

  5. Owner’s Identification Document: Include a copy of the National Identity Document or Passport of the owner, responsible person, or the person traveling with the animal.

  6. Animal Identification: Your pet must be identified with a microchip or tattoo.

For entry into Finland, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Malta, or Norway, additional requirements apply:

 

  1. Echinococcus multilocularis Treatment: Provide proof of treatment against this parasite, both the original and a copy.
  2. Additional Declaration: Submit the original and a copy of the corresponding declaration.
  3. International Veterinary Certificate (CVI): Obtain the CVI from Senasa.
